Announced on April 21, renowned global supplier of healthcare products, Unimed Procurement Services (Unimed) has won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2022.
The Leicestershire-based company is one of 225 national organisations to be recognised with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
The organisation was set up in 2018 and focuses on working within the International Development space, currently supplying quality healthcare products to over 25 countries.
Unimed’s goal is simple; to make a difference. And the firm achieves this by working with organisations such as Her Majesty’s Government Official Development Assistance (ODA), The United States Agency for International Development and the United Nations.
The company continues to assist governments and organisations to ensure that each person receives the right medical product at the right price and for the right purpose, as well as supporting those in need during difficult times, such as the Haiti earthquake and floods in Germany.
Of this success, Shameet Thakkar, founder and managing director of Unimed said: “We are honoured to be presented with the most prestigious award for businesses in the UK.

Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise is amongst the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
