John Vaughan Joins Unimed as Head of UK Sales

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

One of Unimed’s core strengths is our strong relationships and connections with manufacturers and suppliers across the world. With our headquarters in the UK and many opportunities to expand our business profile even further, we’re pleased to have John Vaughan on the team as Head of UK sales.

Reflecting on John’s Industry Experience

Having been in the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years, John started his medical journey by working clinically in operating theatres and intensive care units across England, Holland and Saudi Arabia. He also developed a medical device portfolio whilst working for Blue chip Pharma, Biotech and generics companies.

Having gone from strength to strength within previous companies he’s worked for, including lead sales roles and managerial positions, John is an asset to our business. As country manager for the UK & Ireland in his most recent role, plus several other senior positions, John has gained thorough experience on how to lead an organisation to success as well as the crucial pharmaceutical knowledge needed to be part of the Unimed team.

Not only is John heavily experienced in the healthcare sector, but he has been recognised and rewarded extensively winning several Representative and Regional Business Manager of the year awards and is a four-time winner of the SmithKline Beecham Gold Circle Award.

What Will John bring to Unimed’s Procurement Services?

With the variety of sourcing partners we’ve gained over the years, John’s responsibilities will include developing Unimed’s strengths in the UK. We can supply medical commodities and healthcare products to charities, health organisations, research centres and more. John will be a core part of bringing quality medical products into the UK via our quality manufacturers and suppliers.

When discussing his role, John said: “For me, Unimed will become a recognised quality supplier to the NHS and private hospital businesses, in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are a supplier of integrity and the ability to deliver exactly what is requested and required.”

With the aim to meet tender cycles in 2023 and 2024 and beyond, and to support any ad hoc NHS requirements, John is thrilled to bring his industry knowledge and wide range of both medical and sales experience to the Unimed team.
